Dr. Hey Woun Hyun is a professional music educator.  Her focus are the piano, cello and music theory customized to the individual student.

Hey Woun holds a B.A. in Music and Cello Performance in South Korea. At the University of Potsdam Germany, she earned a B.A. and M.A. in Music Education in addition to a PhD in Education. She also has a Teaching Certificate for elementary school in Germany.

Hey Woun has been principle cellist in numerous symphonies which included the Opera Appassionata, the North Shore Opera Society Orchestra and the West Coast Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed for charitable organizations such as Genesis Safe House and fundraisers for spinal research.

Hey Woun was a faculty at Douglas College Community Music School and Vancouver International Music School. She is currently teaching at West Vancouver Community Centre and North Shore Music Academy. She is member of BCRMTA since 2011.

Hey Woun’s passion for music and education are what she wants to share with all her students. Her dedication to her students has resulted in high mark at RCM exams and music festivals.
