Viola

The clarinet is a family of woodwind instruments. It has a single-reed mouthpiece, a straight, cylindrical tube with an almost cylindrical bore, and a flared bell. A person who plays a clarinet is called a clarinetist (sometimes spelled clarinettist).

Viola lessons are available in North Vancouver at Accent Music Studios with our experience viola instructor. Our viola teacher is accepting new students and has availability for both in-person viola lessons and online, remote lessons. Learning how to play the viola takes dedication and commitment. Viola lessons will help you with posture, hand positioning, bowing technique, tone production and all other skills which enable you master the instrument. Our viola instructor will also prepare you for RCM, ABRSM exams and audition for college, university and orchestras.

The viola is the second highest of the string instruments. Similar to a violin, the instrument is larger in size and lower in pitch. The viola has a deep and mellow tone and perfectly gels the violins and cellos in chamber and orchestral music. As with violin, starting lessons at ages five and six years of age is optimal. The viola comes in fractional sizes so choose an instrument which best fits your child’s size.

Violists tend to be somewhat rarer than violinists. This can be advantageous as it makes a violist very sought after for orchestras and chamber music groups.

String players are very much in demand playing in chamber music, symphony and jazz orchestras, rock and pop bands, in folk music ensembles and of course, as soloists.

Viola lessons are available at Accent Music Studios. We accept students from all over the lower mainland servicing mainly North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Richmond and Vancouver.
